Scientists from the University of Texas tried to figure out what cheating does more harm to the relationship: physical or emotional. In total, the survey involved 400 men and women.
It turned out that marriage is more often falling apart due to infidelity emotional. Damage from physical cheating slightly less. Women, the study showed, equally felt the loss of spiritual and physical connection with a partner. That is why most women find it difficult to survive the emergence of new colleagues, or friend her husband.
"If a new friend you think is perfect, and the wife became absolutely unbearable, then such a friendship is a direct threat to your marriage," says Gail Salz, a Professor of psychiatry at Presbyterian hospital in new York.
