Eating large amounts of citrus, especially oranges, reduces the risk of complications associated with the process of losing weight. This statement was made by scientists from the American chemical society. The results of the work done, reports EurekAlert!
In the experiment, one group of mice received of citrus with a high content of flavonoids (limes, oranges, lemons), together with fatty foods, the second – the standard diet, and the third just fatty foods. Even scientists were interested in the effect of hesperidin, eriocitrin and eriodictyol on animal health.
It turned out that the intake of fatty foods with flavonoids helps to reduce the destructive effect of excess fat. The researchers suggest that the combination of citrus with diet will soften up the diet and make it more useful.
