Children are gaining extra weight during school holidays

Scientists from the University of Texas at Austin found that during school holidays the fastest weight gain.

In the study, researchers conducted surveillance of 18 thousand children for three years. The result was to prove that "school obesity" - the problem is quite serious and urgent.

Indeed, walking to school, many children begin to rapidly gain weight. During the holidays it is even faster. Apparently, this is due to physical inactivity and improper nutrition during the rest of the school.

Now many schools are struggling with harmful products in the cafeterias. But these measures not enough, experts say. Even if the child will eat healthy food at school, there is no guarantee that he will go for fast food.

That's why experts recommend parents to pay attention to the diet of their children, to participate in its drafting, to explain why it is so important to eat fruits and vegetables.
