Child, took care of parents, better protected from obesity

According to The Daily Mail, problems due to excess weight appear 50% more likely to have students who previously walked in the manger. It is worth noting that the increase in probability of obesity was even with the abandonment of children by parents at home with a relative.

Just took part in the study 1649 families from Quebec, had children born from 1997 to 1998. Mother told me, to whom was entrusted the care of children when they reach 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, and 4 years. In accordance with the received answers, the children were divided into groups: "manger", "family", "babysitter", "parent". Six years of observations were associated with the tracking weight and height of children. In the end, revealed large differences in the groups.

According to Dr. Marie-Claude Geoffroy from the University of Montreal, if raising a child aged 1.5 to 4 years had a relative or preschool educational institution, then when it reaches 4-10 years obesity it is 50% more likely than children who stay at home parents.

The risk does not depend on socio-economic status of parents, breastfeeding, body mass index, or employment of the mother. Presumably, influenced by poor diet and lack of physical activity.
