Botox injections in the stomach deemed ineffective for weight loss

Injections of botulinum toxin, or as it is called - Botox, does not reduce body weight and hunger, as was previously believed. To this opinion reached by scientists from the U.S. Mayo clinic. The results of their study, published in the journal "Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology".

Earlier experiments have indicated that Botox helps to reduce weight. But a recent study involving 60 patients suffering from obesity, showed that injections of Botox into the stomach, actually retards the process of moving food, but it does not promote weight loss. According to scientists from the USA, the use of botulinum toxin is very risky, especially since it does not contribute to the reduction of excess weight.
