Aspirin increases the risk of internal bleeding study

Scientists at the University of Edinburgh, headed by Peter Sandercock conducted a study which found: it turns out that the value of aspirin as prophylaxis of disorders of the cardiovascular system is overrated. Healthy people do not need to take aspirin. Thus, they expose themselves to additional risks, writes News.am.

For healthy people acetylsalicylic acid is threatening bleeding disorders and disorders of the stomach. It is noted that regular use of aspirin increases the Ph level of the stomach. This condition is harmful for gastritis and can lead to stomach ulcers.

Aspirin helps in the prevention of blood clots. It reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. The experiment showed that up to 46 people out of ten thousand could have avoided premature death, if he took the drug. However, other data is forced to be careful. In the study group there were about 80 cases of gastric bleeding, some of them provoked by systemic administration of aspirin.
