The first three months are the most important in forming a relationship. That is why in this period of time should be as active as possible in the new team, say scientists from the Jagiellonian University.

In total, the experiment involved 273 freshman. In the first stage, they assessed the level of narcissism and emotional intelligence, says UPI.com.

At a high level of narcissism students were gaining popularity and new acquaintances in the early days. Emotional intelligence and openness to communication – the second factor affecting the appearance of friends.

Emotional intelligence is a special ability to perceive the emotions of others and react correctly. Typically, emotional intelligence is revealed later than openness to new acquaintances. This is especially as it helps to maintain friendly relations for a long time.
