Anti-parasitic drugs can be used to treat tuberculosis

According to Xinhua, antiviral medications can be used as drugs against tuberculosis.

Scientists at the University of British Columbia first became interested in avermectins, which are widely used in the treatment of dangerous viruses causing encephalitis and blindness.

Studies have shown that these drugs successfully cope with tuberculosis bacteria, including drug-resistant form. Amazingly, because scientists believed that the avermectins are not able to fight the bacteria in principle.

Most likely, soon avermectin drugs are in widespread use in new drug therapy or will be used in combination with other agents against diseases. Currently, researchers are determined to reception mode and effective dosage. Started tests on animal models.
