An epidemic of zika virus may be of a "man-made nature", said the Minister of health of the Russian Federation

The day before Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of health of Russia, shared on national television on his views on the periodic spread of dangerous infections around the globe. She believes that viruses may have "man-made nature".

"Apparently, we cannot exclude the human factor in the development of certain infectious because of the pathogens that long ago, decades and centuries existed in nature," says Skvortsov. The threat of global epidemics consistently occurs every one to two years. Yesterday was Ebola, now virus – Zeke. The world health organization has already called fever zika danger on a global scale. The health Ministry has a more reserved position on this matter and believes the problem is slightly exaggerated by the media.

However, Skvortsova recommends to refrain from trips to Brazil and other troubled regions of pregnant women. In October last year there were almost 5 thousand cases of infection by zika virus. Now under active consideration the question of the abolition of the Olympic games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
