A person gets used to bad news

Scientists from Israel found that daily reading and viewing bad news has a negative impact on the psyche. Over time, the emotional reaction is reduced and the person gets used. The study results were published in Attention, Perception, & Psychophysics.

In the course of the research, the scientists studied the response of volunteers on certain words, including "explosion", "pain" and others. The experiment showed that the emotional reaction of a person significantly decreased after the fifth negative words in a row. In addition, the study used neutral words that a similar effect was not.

Scientists have noted that often the news is screaming the title. Want to read the news in full, in order to reduce the negative connotation of the title.
