Health professionals from Stanford University claim that by analyzing changes in the immune system of the mother, it is possible to identify the probability of an early emergence of the baby born.
Keep track of the changes mentioned above can be achieved by the collection and subsequent study of blood samples of pregnant women. Note that currently no accurate methods for determining risk of preterm birth does not exist.
The researchers performed a comprehensive analysis of blood samples twenty-eight future mothers, which has been studied for more than fifty different indicators of each individual immune cells, including their type, activity of the signaling pathways and response to chemical compounds that mimic viruses.
As a result, the experts were able to figure out what transformations were undergone the immunity of women in the period of carrying a child, and to highlight the relationship between immune status and the risk of early childbirth.
