Alzheimer's disease will soon cease to be incurable. So say experts from the Swiss Federal Institute of technology. They were able to develop a drug to combat dementia. In one study, the capsule was tested on mice and confirmed the effectiveness of medicines, says NDTV.
The main theory of development of Alzheimer's disease is based on the formation in the brain of beta-amyloid proteins that cause an immune response in the body. As a result the brain tissue are damaged, develop dementia, deteriorating cognitive abilities.
Biologically active capsule provides a constant flow of antibodies to the brain of a sick person. The result is artificial protection from disease progression. Moreover, an experiment with laboratory mice showed that for the 39 week of taking medication the number of amyloid plaques in animals has decreased markedly.
