About 70% of all deaths in the world – a consequence of bad habits. Two out of three, the study found, could live longer, if not for the alcohol, Smoking and drug connection.

The researchers analyzed data about the residents of 195 countries, deaths between 1990 and 2015. The result has been to prove that bad habits lead to premature death in 70% of cases.

Over the last decades significantly decreased mortality from bacterial and viral infections. The percentage of deaths due to poor lifestyle and bad habits significantly increased.

At the moment, in most countries, the leading causes of death are cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes. Smoking and alcohol impact directly on the risk of all three diseases.
